Anneke had her first trip to the ER this morning. 105 degree temp at 8:00 in the morning Saturday, and the advice nurse says go to the ER. So off we went.
A quick change from pajamas to hospital gown and as you see we have cel phone picture moment.
Turns out Anneke had a UTI. A big bottle of grape flavor anti-biotics is supposed to do the trick.
Oh that is excellent. Good for you for being such a diligent mom. I have taken peanut twice to the ER and it sucked hard both times. As I was leaving during one of the visits. i saw this parent just watching as there little was laying completely flat on his bag with about 5 people around him doing doctor stuff. It was horrifying and made me so thankful for the beauty and energy in my children.
they had to catheterize her! K, it brought back memories! (of being a camp counselor and having to catheterize kids, that is). I don't know how common it is, but apparently her cousin has had a couple as well as a distant cousin back in AR. poor baby!
Oh no! That must have been so scary for all of you. She looks like she's in good spirits though. Agreed on the BLONDE hair!! Wow. Can't wait to see it in person once she's all healthy! Hoping for a quick recovery.

I know--scary, but so grateful it was treatable and that we have insurance!
glad your little patient is ok - that hospital gown was too cute, though!
we predict many a trip to the ER with little man. he is fascinated with putting things in his nose and ears. far too soon something will stick! :)
Poor Anneke! Glad they could figure it out and hope she's mended soon!
Please send our thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery to Miss Anneke, who we see by the very cool cell phone pic is a BLONDE!
That must have been scary... 105 for such a small tyke! Wishing you all a lovely, completely uneventful Sunday! :)
Oh, and just out of curiosity... how did they know it was a UTI? Are those common in small kids?
