On Memorial Day, in front of witnesses, Anneke Grace took her first steps. After everyone left our small memorial day gathering, we grabbed the nearest video camera and recreated the event for posterity. Unfortunately it happened to be the cheapest video camera in the house. Even so, it captures a proud moment.
As some have pointed out, these first steps will surely lead to a whole new level of required baby proofing.
In case you were wondering, that was a paper clip.

Time flies
Well! beautiful weather and technical difficulties converged and interrupted our blogging. What in the world have we been up to?
Mother's Day with Dave's parents at Bistro Maison in McMinnville
Dave has been making cheese.
Anneke has been checking her email.
I have resumed my voice lessons and started considering going into private practice. And I got to see Tallgirl, Mr. Tallgirl, and the Peanuts Two when they were in town for a visit! Never fear, blogsphere: more up-to-the minute coverage of our exciting lives is coming soon! Will Caroline make it all the way through season eight of Magnum P.I.? Will Dave ever get to make bleu cheese? Will we ever see the bottom of the pool again? Stay tuned to find out!

Fame
Caroline and I were lucky enough to enjoy a small portion of our allotted 15 minutes of fame today. The Oregonian Food Day published our review of a cookbook, along with a picture of our small family.

Check it out, and our new youtube.com channel.

omg
Okay, fellow parents: I did it. I booked a trip to see my sister for her birthday (yay!) without
Anneke. I can't WAIT to see my sister, but please give me suggestions/reassurance about being away from our sweet babe for four days! She will be in good hands with Daddy the whole time. Now that I've booked the ticket I'm so nervous about it!
